Culinary Place : “Gudeg Muntilan Mbok Jayus“

Restaurant of Gudeg Muntilan Mbok Jayus that located at Soekarno Hatta Street Kediri Regency is the new restaurant that has just launched on Monday noon (14/11). The service with buffet system increase the various of culinary dishes in the Soekrano Hatta's street, direction to Simpang Lima Gumul (SLG), which known as the culinary center of Kediri Regency.

Reza as the branch chief of Gudeg Muntilan said that dish served as the main course is gudeg and also various traditional home cooking. Daily open on 09.00 am till 10.00 pm except Idul Fitri and Idul Adha. Beside that, the restaurant also serve catering, wedding reception venue, and in future will also serve private room and meeting place. The prices are relatively cheap around IDR 5.000 – IDR 19.000.

Mr. KH. Anwar Iskandar as the owner stated that the restaurant establishment has a many reason. Firstly, we need a business that can be absorb a lot of labor, and culinary business is one of the efforts labor-intensive and absorb the produce of people Kediri Regency.

Secondly, these business related to educational activities, Islamic Boarding School, and school. Then, 10% of the profit per month was taken for it. So, not full profit which we take. We have two Islamic Boarding Schools from Kindergarten through high school. For the poor kids who brought a letter from the village chief's home area, then the entire cost of education from tuition, uniforms, books until meal was borne islamic boarding school.

Thirdly, efforts to support the Kediri Tourism is a sure thing, because culinary is an integral part of the tourism. Kediri Regency launched tourism activities that be iconic of Kediri Regency. Moreover, we’ve talked to Regent Haryanti to open business opportunites for Small Medium Enterprise such as snack from Kediri Regency, beside that also provided space to sell their products, as at Ayam Penyet Suroboyo Restaurant which already have place like that.

The launching ceremony was attended by many circle, they are religious leaders, government, banking, business, military, national police, political parties, campus leaders. They are very enthusiastic and insya Allah acceptable. Because menu in this restaurant have been matched with the tongue of East Java starting dose of sugar and salt.
